Location
Highway 1 continues to be closed south of Big Sur for a 1.5 mile stretch from Limekiln State Park to just south of Lucia. We are easily accessible from the south by taking Highway 101 to Monterey / Carmel area and picking up Highway 1 there.
Update (3/31/24): Highway 1 is also closed from the north temporarily due to a slip-out near Rocky Creek Bridge. The southbound lane to Big Sur Campground has been lost (and northbound lane potentially impacted). No timetable is known at this time on its re-opening, but crews are working around the clock to assess and repair the route.
